You nailed it in this piece. I’ve been guilty of preaching work-life balance, and striven for it myself. At the times I have been successful at “achieving” it, I didn’t really “feel” the supposed benefits of it. I’m much happier when I’m completely immersed in a project or a plan, while at the same time being completely immersed in my relationships, my outside activities, my quiet time, and spiritual work — they all kind of flow together. On outside observer might say, “where’s the balance?”, but inside, I just feel right.
