I was on Medium for nearly two years, never venturing beyond the borders of one publication, The Story Hall, a great pub, where I felt safe. The big super literary highway of Medium intimidated me. I came from a much smaller site called Cowbird that had shuttered its doors to new content in March 2017, after I’d written and posted over 2,000 stories there.
The Story Hall was originally conceived by a Cowbird refugee, for Cowbird refugees and other storytellers who just wanted to tell stories and share poems. I loved, and still love, that about the Story Hall. But, over the past six months, venturing beyond those borders, and discovering so many other interesting publications, and fascinating storytellers, has been quite an awakening for this storyteller. This was a great story, resonated on a number of levels.
