I get what are called vestibular migraines, different than regular aural migraines, but with the same devastating effect when they strike. Mine started when I had a facial nerve schwanna (aka brain tumor) — thankfully, the tumor’s gone, but still get the occasional migraine.

I really relate to the parts where you say “it’s bad, but nothing like it used to be”. That does, somehow, help to tolerate them.

This was excellent.
